About

Find your bike where you lost it.

Vindfiets puts every found bike from Dutch municipalities on one map, so you can search by street and neighbourhood instead of endlessly scrolling a list.

What is vindfiets?

Municipalities remove bikes that are parked carelessly or for too long every day and keep them in a depot for a while. Those finds are registered publicly — but spread across thousands of separate entries you can only browse as a list.

Vindfiets gathers those entries and puts them on a map, with filters for type, colour, city and date found. Click a bike for the details: where it was found, until when you can collect it and from which depot.

Where does the data come from?

The data comes from the public lost-and-found registry at verlorenofgevonden.nl (iLost), the platform many Dutch municipalities use. Locations are resolved via the PDOK location service — sometimes at street level, sometimes approximately at city level.

The map refreshes several times a day. Even so, information can be out of date: always check the current status with the source or the depot.

How do you collect your bike?

Is your bike among them? Open the detail page for the depot and the pickup deadline. Bring a valid ID and — if you have it — your frame number or proof of purchase. Collection and the exact conditions go through the municipality or the depot, not through vindfiets.

Independent

Vindfiets is an independent project and is not affiliated with iLost, verlorenofgevonden.nl or any municipality. It is a tool to make the existing, public data easier to search.
